Different sunflowers and what their seeds/centers look like! So cool …

I love sunflowers and always have. When we had this wild idea to start a market garden, and made our logo, I made sure I put a sunflower right on the logo to make sure I one day grew my “field” of sunflowers. Turns out my favorite thing to do with sunflowers is share them with my friends, family, and community. . This year I’ve decided to save all of my own seeds so friends can grow their own!

Pick out your fav variety or get one of each to enjoy in your own field of sunflowers!

  • LEMONADE: This sunflower variety is a "branching" variety, which means you will get more than one flower per plant. This means that this variety will need more space to grow and come into its full potential.

Spacing: 12+ inches apart (ideal is 18in)

Sun: Full Sun (6+ hours daily)

    Directly plant into the garden

MAMMOTH, BLONDE MAMMOTH, HASTINGS SPECIAL: These varieties are single stem sunflowers, which have the potential for branching. These will reach heights of 10 ft+ and will need plenty of space to grow tall and wide. These are stunning to have in the garden as an accent along the house or out in the garden. Let them dry on the stalk as a natural bird feed and watch the gold finches come in droves!

    Spacing: 18in+

Sun: Full Sun (6+ hours daily)

    Plant Directly into the garden

GOLD LITE, PROCUT ORANGE: These varieties are single stem sunflowers and requre less space to grow into their full glory...but the more space you give them, the more impressive their heads will be. I have also experienced branching and secondary flower production with these varieites, so don't pull your stalks once your first flower emerges.. you may just get some more!

Spacing: 8in+ (our best experience has been with 12+ inches apart)

Sun: Full Sun (6+ hours daily)

Planting: Plant directly into the garden
